The Dirty Dozen & Clean 15 for 2012

Please see this list: Dirty Dozen & Clean 15 for the updated 2013 list.

It's Organic Week in Canada and this is reason to educate ourselves and celebrate beautiful clean food! I have created a handy postcard for you based on the Environmental Working Group's assessment of pesticide residues on food.

In the image below you will find the "dirty dozen" list which identifies foods with the highest levels of pesticides, so it's best to buy organic for those 12. And the "clean 15" list indicates foods safe to buy non-organic because they have the lowest pesticide residues. This is largely due to the fact that pests don't bother with these foods as much, resulting in a lesser need for insecticides.

Just keep in mind that certified organic prohibits the use of GMO's, so the clean 15 may still be a GMO food -- corn is an example of this.

To get this postcard, just click on the image above, or download JoyousHealth-ShopClean.

You may be wondering based on the latest study if buying organic foods are worth your valuable money. The answer? Absolutely, 100% yes! Please read this article written by Bryce Wylde to clear up any confusion.

Lastly, remember that the most important thing is that you are eating 10-12 servings of fruits and vegetables per day.

Tune in to the Global Morning Show tomorrow just before 8am EST for my segment on this very topic.

Be joyful,

Joy
