The last two classes of Eat Well Feel Well we've had our students do a short mindful eating exercise by closing their eyes and allowing all their senses to be submerged by the flavour and texture of what they were eating. I also encouraged them to think about how every single morsel of food is nourishment for their body -- I hope they listened :)

You don't have to be an experienced yogi to be mindful with your eating habits, you just have to try. I encourage you to do this --> The next time you eat, close your eyes, submerge yourself in the flavours and send love and positive energy into your food. You will be amazed at the outcome!

So today on my Joyous Health Facebook page, I noticed this lovely woman Cynthia posted her Tedx Talk on my wall. I loved it so much I wanted to share it with all of you and I am so excited about it because it speaks to MY soul and I hope it stirs something in you. :)

These were my favourite messages from Cynthia:

"Your thoughts and your emotions go into your food as you prepare it".

"The food is begging you to Be. Here. Now".

"Mindful eating helps you chose better food".

"Food from nature deserves RESPECT. A box of dried cereal, not so much!"

Thank you Cynthia for your love of food!

I needed this reminder today. My eating has been very rushed lately, and I haven't been "enjoying" my food. Because of that, I feel the need to eat more, even when I'm not hungry. Thanks for sharing!

So true. Food tastes so much better when you're in a better mood. If I'm upset or angry and try to cook it usually turns out to be a disaster. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing that. When food is cooked with care and love it tastes so much better definately. I love cooking I find it so calming and peaceful.
