Video: What's In My Kitchen Pantry?

Hey there! I hope you liked my last two videos: "What's in my freezer?" and "What's in my fridge?" This week's featured video is What's in my Kitchen Pantry

Hey there! I hope you liked my last two videos: "What's in my freezer? " and "What's in my fridge? " This week's featured video is What's in my Kitchen Pantry. Since I don't have one large pantry, I shared with you various sections of my kitchen where I store non-perishables.

Here's a brief summary of my video:

Herbs and spices: Buy high quality, certified organic when possible to avoid irradiation and pesticides.

Salt: Ditch the table salt from your kitch aka sodium chloride! It's NOT healthy and treated with chemicals to make it that bleached out white. Use sea salt and rock salt -- a rich source of minerals and a wonderful way to bring out the flavour in food.

Fats and oils: Stock your kitchen pantry with a variety of oils. Right now I have coconut oil, extra-virgin olive oil, pumpkin seed oil (all the way from Austria!) and sesame seed oil. Be sure to always buy "cold pressed" oils in a dark glass bottle. Coconut oil is the exception because it's not prone to rancidity when exposed to light. Store your oils in a dark, preferably cool-ish place. Curious the difference between coconut oil and coconut butter? I talked about oil pulling in my video, here's a post about how to do it .

Beans and legumes: Keep a variety of dried beans and legumes in your kitchen pantry. I also always have canned, BPA-free, no-salt cooked beans on hand for quick and healthy recipes.

Pasta: I keep a variety of dried pastas including both gluten-free and gluten-containing pastas. My fave pasta is quinoa pasta -- it is WAY tastier than brown rice pasta.

Teas: As you can see, I have a whole entire shelf devoted to my love of tea! Plus lots of different types of raw honey. Have you tried my popsicles with it. And in this recent post, made some iced tea with the NOURISH blend. You may have noticed from my What's in my Fridge video I keep this iced tea ready to drink all the time, I make it every few days.

Superfoods: I have a variety of superfoods that I keep stocked up on including: goji berries , raw cacao powder and nibs, coconut flakes and more.

Here's the video, enjoy!

Great video like usual! My cupboards and pantry look a lot like yours. lol Hey, I noticed your raw honey looks like the "Honey Bunny" brand. I have some of that, too! It is produced in the small hamlet of Guy, AB (population 40 people...seriously) where my husband's family used to live at one time. I've been there a few times. It's about 1 1/2 hrs. from where I live. We went to a family reunion this summer close to there, and Paul's cousin, who works there, had boxes of the honey to sell. :) Just thought you might like to know where your food came from. haha http://www.onedegreeorganics.com/honey-bunny

Hello Joy Love all the videos about what's in your kitchen. I see you have some books on your shelves so I would like to know "what's in your library?". Thanks.

Hi Joy, I checked Genuine Health's website and noticed that they sell various types of protein powders. Which one do you recommend? Thank you, Sharlène
