A Focus on Prevention - Add 1 or 2 of These Foods Everyday

Millions is spent every year in search of the one magic cure for cancer, when nature has provided an abundance of scientifically proven, cancer preventative
Jul 17, 2009 | Joy McCarthy

Millions is spent every year in search of the one magic cure for cancer, when nature has provided an abundance of scientifically proven, cancer preventative foods that are accessible in your local grocer all year round.

Top Antioxidant Foods

Fruit has some of the highest concentrations of antioxidants found in food. Some of the fruits that have the highest concentration are:

Cherries

Blackberries

Strawberries

Raspberries

Crowberries

Blueberries

Wild Blueberries

Black Currants

Pomegranates

Grapes

Oranges

Plums

Pineapples

Kiwi

Grapefruits

Vegetables are also excellent sources of antioxidants. Some examples include:

Kale

Chili Peppers

Red Cabbage

Peppers

Parsley

Artichoke

Brussel Sprouts

Spinach

Lemon

Red Beets

Other foods that are high in antioxidants include:

Dry Fruits

Legumes

Nuts

Seeds

Try adding at least 1-2 foods to every meal and snack everyday for prevention of cancer. I hope that we conquer cancer in our lifetime, but more importantly, I believe this is going to happen when we change our perception of cancer and work on PREVENTION. There are so many factors that lead to developing cancer and most cancers take 10-15 years to develop fully enough to be diagnosed as such. Why not start today by eating ORGANIC foods that are antioxidant rich. For more information on antioxidants, please check out my other blogs on the topic.

I love this article because finally somebody gets it right. I've always thought of cancer as a sign of a deficiency. A recent survey indicated that 75% of people don't eat enough fruit and vegetables. It's very easy to see why cancer rates are so high when we don't eat the proper foods that may prevent it. So much money is thrown at cancer and yet it's so simple to prevent. Grab some fruit for a snack! How hard is that? Fantastic work Joy!
