  1. favourite way to use chick peas is a chick pea salad: 3-1/2 cups cooked chick peas (dry, then cooked), about 35-50 red grapes, 1 orange, 1 apple, 1/4 cup raisins, 1/4 cup cranberries, 1/4 cup almonds, 1/4 cup cashews, 1/4 cup hemp hearts, 3 tbsp olive oil, 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar (best if it’s kalamata balsamic)

  3. Why is she using canned chickpeas? Wouldn’t organic vegetables be a better choice, especially the celery?

Hi! I’m the one in the video 🙂 I always use organic veggies, especially celery because it is on the dirty dozen which means it is one of the most highly contaminated foods with pesticides. As for the chickpeas, you can certainly use dry, then soak, then cook — that’s fine too! However, many people want fast solutions which is why canned once in a while is A-okay. Aim for healthy, not perfection. As well, these chick peas are BPA-free. Hope that helps!

  5. this is one of my favourite recipes from your book Joy. Its definitely the one I make most often. Its going to be on the menu again tonight 🙂

Hey Sarah, We don’t typically record the quantitative nutrition information for recipes as we encourage people to look at food from a more qualitative perspective 🙂 Our apologies for any inconveniences! Rachel – Joyous Health Team
