3 Ways To Cheer Up!

These are scientifically proven ways to bring some more cheer into your life! Next time you are in a slump, skip the chocolate or expensive shopping and try

These are scientifically proven ways to bring some more cheer into your life! Next time you are in a slump, skip the chocolate or expensive shopping and try one of these tips.

1. READ INSTEAD OF WATCHING TV. Those who described themselves as very happy, in a 34 year long study of over 25,000 people, were 21 percent more likely to read a newspaper and watched approx. 3 hours less TV than those who were unhappy.

2. DRINK A WARM BEVERAGE LIKE GREEN TEA. Did you know that you are nicer to strangers when you have a hot drink in your hands? According to a 2008 study in the journal Science researchers concluded that physical warmth triggers psychological warmth. Sprinkle on spices to your hot drink: Cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves have all been studied as natural antidepressants.

3. FLOAT IN THE TUB. Get yourself some food-grade epsom salts and take a warm bath. Studies prove that patients' anxiety and depression decreased by one forth according to research published in the International Journal of Stress Management. They measured levels of prolactin, a hormone that contributes to relaxation rose by as much as 33 percent.

My final tip is something I do when I'm feeling in a funk or need a little lift - I go for a brisk walk and get some FRESH AIR. The exercise raises my endorphins (feel-good hormones) and this is why it's a great way to cheer up and feel refreshed fast.

Live well,

Joyous

number two is 100% legit. this applies especially in the morning when people are coming to me with work that I think they are capable of doing themselves. If they bring along a coffee, I don't seem to mind so much.

Can I eat chocolate as I read while floating in the tub? Because that would cheer me up immensely!
