A Day In The Life of Me!

On my YouTube channel I often get asked what a day in the life of me looks like. I've been putting this off for a while, because honestly, it's not really glamorous or exciting, but I wouldn't have it any other way! 

Being an entrepreneur, no two days are exactly alike because I do a lot of travel (which I forgot to mention in my video) and there's many times I'm out of the office doing talks or having meetings. I also have to work quite often in the evening once my daughter Vienna is in bed because I like to spend time with her after daycare, between 4 and 7pm. Like right now, it's 8:15pm in the evening and I'm writing this post! I'm not complaining, I just want you to know the reality. 

Before you get to the video, I thought I would share five things with you that I love about my day.


  1. Morning cuddles with Vienna follwed by our morning walk.
  2. Writing/blogging and recipe creating for the blog and for my third book, the Joyous Cookbook!
  3. On Tuesdays -- our team meeting with Rachel and Carol. 
  4. Making dinner with Walker and Vienna.
  5. Cuddling with my hubs at night, after we shut down our computers and chillax.

Hi Joy Love your video! I have Joyous Detox and love your ideas and recipes. I’m 70 years old and always looking for a way to live healthy. I’m retired now but busier than ever doing yoga, art classes and courses at Ryerson. Also I have a grandchild and we take him to soccer and swim classes as his parents work weekends. Busy, busy. But I read and of course there’s Netflix. Must learn to put down devices earlier. Take care Glenna Shiaman Live joyously. ( haha sounds like Starwars or something)

Everyday I begin my day with oil pulling between 10-20 mins, then I drink 6 ounces of lemon water on an empty stomach. Makes my day fabulous because it was me time.

Joy, you're so fortunate to be able to create a life of ease and flow like this! It's something I aspire to. I love what I do (I'm in the environmental field) but my life is hectic and it has taken a toll on my health (I'm actually working with a couple of your colleagues from the Nutritionist College). I'm happy to see examples of how people have made their lives work. Thanks for sharing! Btw, what type of a school does Vienna go to, if you don't mind me asking?

Hey Em, Thanks for the kind words (on behalf of Joy!) I highly doubt you are eating too much, unless you personally feel overly full after everytime you eat :) Joy was actually a bit hesitant to put this video out and show what she eats in a day because she didn't want people to think they had to eat the exact same as her. Everyone has different needs based on their genetic blueprint, activity levels etc so what one person eats is naturally going to differ from the next persons :) Rachel - Joyous Health Team
